Laying the foundation In our clinic, patients have several routes they can take: Chiropractic, Nutrition, Acupuncture or all of the above! Chiropractic, Nutrition, and Acupuncture is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic and nutrition care . . .
Phase 1: Fine Tuning If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need chiropractic care 2-3 times per week for 2-3 weeks. For nutrition care we need to COMPLETELY fine tune your nutriton program by seeing you once a week for 4-6 weeks.
Phase 2: Healing and Observation During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical for chiropractic patients to need care 2-4 times per month for a few months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem. For nutrition care, once your nutritonal program is stable, patients need to be checked 2 times per month where their body is doing the healing and we as practitioners are observing and making changes as needed.
Phase 3: Maintenance Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor once per month, based on your lifestyle and goals. For nutrition, once all of your health problems have been addressed, naturally you will want to stay well. This will require a nutrition patient to have monthly checkups as well. At this point we want patients to take responsibility for their health because what you eat today is the body you live in tomorrow and the same is true for you family's health. We want patients to understand that good health is the best health insurance there is and a good maintenance program ensures that good health is maintained.
